About Alexis Hunter Hunter came to prominence in London in the 1970s for her radical photographic Narrative Sequences, securing her place in the feminist avantgarde. Her particular form of image-making opens up thinking about the intersection of feminism, new technologies, and a disruptive epoch. Her moral and conceptual preoccupations are explored using photography, film, text, paint, and ink. Hunter’s work has more recently been re-presented in important exhibitions at the Whitechapel Gallery, London; Taxispalais, Innsbruck; MOCA Los Angeles; Norwich Gallery UK and toured to Bunkier Sztuki, Kracow, Poland; and Sammlung Verbund, Vienna, Austria.
